FINPOWER Gaps Catalogue (WP 2)
The FINPOWER gaps catalogue provides a summary of the outcomes from WP 2, which is dedicated to gathering evidence-based data on financial literacy among women in Austria, Italy, Lithuania, Portugal, Romania, and Slovenia (project partner countries). This involves identifying gaps in financial literacy training and collecting best practices and innovative concepts for financial education aimed at women in Europe. Additionally, the activities within WP 2 aimed to investigate the competencies that women require to manage their personal finances, and to enable them to make empowered decisions in their day-to-day lives.
SUMMARY
Microlearning guide used by the partners to prepare the course (WP 2)
Microlearning refers to a learning approach that utilizes small, carefully designed
modules and brief learning activities. It addresses the brain’s limited working memory
capacity by tackling learner boredom, disengagement, and low retention, which often
occur due to cognitive overload caused by traditional long-format instruction.
(Commonwealth of Learning).
FINPOWER Life Skills competence pack (WP 3)
The Skills and Competences Matrix is the set of knowledge, skills and competences which need to be acquired by the women to become financial literate. It is done based on the expertise available in the consortium, but also all findings gathered in WP2.
In the case of FINPOWER a skills and competences matrix is focusing on key components of literacy. Course modules defined based on the results in WP 2 and discussion at the meeting in Maribor are the following:
- Basics on financial literacy
- Earning
- Spending/Budgeting
- Saving
- Borrowing
- Investing
- Online security and safety
- Insurance Basics

REAL-LIFE SITUATIONS
FINPOWER Academy will be divided into two main parts.
One part is targeting trainers and includes training materials and manual for trainers all translated into national languages of all partners.
The second part targets women directly, providing them with two key features. First, they have direct access to the online academy, including a self-assessment test. Second, they can access the microlearning units, which allow them to focus on specific topics they are interested in or currently facing. These units offer various learning and interactive tools to help women develop financial literacy skills on their own, based on real-life situations.
